Hello, I am Sophia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Zürich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what started as a temporary contract gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
The Beginning of Our Move
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t in our long-term plan. Like many expat journeys, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and new expectations. Daily tasks felt more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Created Covra Selin Amyr
Most online content was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical tips drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What this site is (and isn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated only when a real change occurs
This site is not:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zürich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sophia
